Anterior Segment Time Domain Optical Coherence Tomography

چکیده
To compare anterior segment parameters using quantitative imaging by anterior segment time domain optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT) and high frequency ultrasound biomicroscopy (HF-UBM). SETTING: Department of Ophthalmology at Bari University. METHODS: Seventy-two eyes of 72 subjects had anterior segment evaluation by AS-OCT (Stratus ver 6Zeiss) and HF-UBM (OTI-Scan HF35-50). Central corneal thickness (CCT) and the peripheral iridocorneal angles (temporal and nasal) were assessed and compared. RESULTS: There was an excellent correlation between AS-OCT and HF-UBM measurements for the nasal angle, temporal angle and CCT. There was significant difference between the mean CCT, and angle parameters measured by AS-OCT and HF-UBM. The AS-OCT images showed sharper definition than the HF-UBM images. CONCLUSION: Anterior segment AS-OCT and HFUBM can both be used for anterior segment measurements but yielded non-comparable results.

Quantitative Assessment of Anterior Segment Inflammation in a Rat Model of Uveitis Using Spectral-Domain Optical Coherence Tomography
PURPOSE To develop anterior segment spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) and quantitative image analysis for use in experimental uveitis in rats. METHODS Acute anterior uveitis was generated in Lewis rats. A spectral domain anterior segment OCT system was used to image the anterior chamber (AC) and ciliary body at baseline and during peak inflammation 2 days later. Customized...

Anterior segment imaging allows for an objective method of visualizing the anterior segment angle. Two of the most commonly used devices for anterior segment imaging include the anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT) and the ultrasound biomicroscopy (UBM). AS-OCT technology has several types, including time-domain, swept-source, and spectral-domain-based configurations. We perfo...
متن کاملAnterior Vitreous Incarceration after Phacoemulsification Cataract Extraction Imaged with Spectral-Domain Optical Coherence Tomography
Background: Anterior vitreous incarceration is a condition in which vitreous prolapses into the anterior chamber and passes through a microscopic wound at an incisional site. The condition can be identified as a vitreous strand leading to the wound site during slit lamp examination. If the vitreous strand penetrates through all the corneal layers on to the extraocular surface it becomes vitreou...

Time domain (TD) and spectral domain (SD) optical coherence tomography (OCT) are cross-sectional, noncontact, high-resolution diagnostic modalities for posterior and anterior segment (AS) imaging. The AS-OCT provides tomographic imaging of the cornea, iris, lens, and anterior chamber (AC) angle in several ophthalmic diseases. In glaucoma, AS-OCT is utilized to evaluate the morphology of AS stru...

New advances in anterior segment optical coherence tomography (OCT) technology development allow visualizing the anterior chamber angle of the eye with high speed and high resolution. Fourier-domain (FD) OCT instruments working at 840 nm can reliably identify fine angle structures such as the Schwalbe's line. This paper demonstrates quantitative angle assessment with 840 nm FD-OCT and provides ...
